Shopping Insights

See which products AI answers recommend for your shopping prompts, which brands and merchants they name, and what to fix in your product feed.

Shopping Insights shows which products AI answers recommend when people ask shopping questions, which brands and merchants they name, and which of your prompts surface them. With a product feed connected, it also checks each product against an AI-shopping checklist and tells you what to fix.

Open it from the sidebar: Analytics › Shopping Insights (/analytics/shopping).

Available on plans that include Shopping Insights. CSV downloads also need Reporting on your plan. Any account member can view the page. See Plans and billing.

How it works

When an AI answer to one of your tracked prompts shows product cards, Opttab captures each card's image, brand, title, price, rating, review count and merchant link. It sorts products into categories using the Shopify product taxonomy.

A product counts as yours when it matches a product in your connected feed, a monitored catalog product, your workspace's brand, or your own shop selling it.

Connect your product feed

You can use Shopping Insights without a feed, but connecting one gives more precise results and unlocks the Improvements tab.

Open the feed drawer

Press Connect on the Connect Your Feed to Get the Best Analytics prompt, or press the Product Feed chip in the header. The Add New Product Feed drawer opens.

Name it and choose a method

Enter a Display Name and pick a Method: Upload CSV or TXT (up to 50 MB), Hosted URL (fetched on a schedule, with optional username and password), or Platform › Shopify.

Create

Press Create. You see "Feed added. Syncing products…".

Feeds sync daily, and you can press Re-sync at any time. Products found in your feed get a green cart icon ("In your product feed"). Feeds are shared with Ads. For every field, method and error, see Product feeds.

Toolbar

  • Period picker, shared with the other Analytics pages.
  • Categories, Platforms, Brands and Merchants chips.
  • Export downloads the current tab's data as CSV (needs Reporting on your plan).

Period and platform narrow everything. Category, brand and merchant narrow which product cards count, but visibility is still measured against all eligible answers on your live prompts.

The tabs

  • Product strip: products in order of how often they appeared. Turn on Only Your Products or press See All.
  • Shopping Highlights: Top Product, Top Brand and Top Merchant.
  • Product Visibility: daily visibility per AI platform. If a platform returned no products for anyone on a day, a warning says the dip comes from the platform, not your products.
  • Product Leaderboard: your products ranked by how often AI answers show them. Your own products are starred.
  • Shopping Prompts: each prompt with its AI models, your product, product count and top brand. Press a row for Prompt details.

The product panel

Press any product card to open its panel. It has five tabs:

TabWhat you see
OverviewTop Competitor Products from the same answers, Product Visibility, AI model distribution, Platforms and Merchants
Brands & MerchantsWho else shows up beside this product
Prompts & ResponsesThe prompts and answers that showed it

ImprovementsThe checklist for this product, if it's in your feed

Use Copy link to share the panel, Visibility trend to jump to its chart, and the arrows to step through products.

Improvements

The Improvements tab checks every product in your feed against an AI-shopping readiness checklist. Checks run after each successful feed sync.

Readiness gates — one per destination:

GateChecks readiness for
ACPOpenAI product feeds (Agentic Commerce Protocol)
UCPGoogle Merchant Center (Universal Commerce Protocol)
WebWeb discovery: the page loads, AI shopping crawlers may read it, and name and price need no script

Each gate reads Feed ready, Page ready, Blocked, Unverified or Not requested, with the share of checks Opttab could verify.

How to use it:

Start with Top issues

Top issues lists each shared problem once, with the number of products it affects. Press one to narrow the grid.

Scan the grid

One column per check, grouped into Feed basics, Identity & variants, Content, Images, Price & availability, Product page and Shop. Each cell reads Good, To improve, Can't verify or Doesn't apply, with a priority of Must fix, Important or Nice to have. Blocked products come first.

Open a product

Press a product to open Improvement Details. Each issue shows the evidence ("In your feed:", "On the page:", "On your shop:") and How to improve. For Shopify feeds, it names the place in Shopify admin to change.

Filter the grid with Search title, SKU or GTIN, Status, Priority and Readiness. Can't verify means Opttab had no evidence — missing evidence never counts as a pass.

Page and shop checks need a public product URL. For Shopify, publish products to the Online Store channel so they have one.
