Opportunities
See a ranked list of what to do next to show up in more AI answers, and act on each item with the AI assistant.
Opportunities is a ranked to-do list for your brand. Each item, called an opportunity, is one concrete thing you can do to be mentioned or cited in more AI answers. Open Optimize in the sidebar and you land here, on the page titled Opportunities for Optimization.
Everyone in the workspace can view opportunities. Owners, Admins and Members with full access can mark them done, dismiss or reopen them. Acting on an opportunity opens the AI assistant, which depends on your plan. See Acting on an opportunity.
How it works
Opttab builds the list from what it already measures: the AI answers to your tracked prompts, your latest site audit, and your content gaps. Building the list never calls AI and never uses your plan allowance.
The list rebuilds itself about two minutes after any of these:
- a tracking run finishes and its answers are counted;
- a site audit finishes;
- your content gaps change (they are recalculated at most once an hour).
What an opportunity is
An opportunity has a category, a score from 0 to 100, the evidence behind it, and a status.
Categories
The page has a tab for each category: All · Content · Outreach · Discoverability · Agent Readiness.
| Category | What it finds | Card title | Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Content | A topic where AI answers cite other sites and not yours. The card shows how many answers cite others, for example "6 of 9 AI answers cite others, not you." | "Create content for “…”" when you have no matching article, or "Improve “…”" when you do | Write it or Improve it |
| Outreach | A third-party website that AI answers cite when a competitor appears and you don't. It looks at the last 30 days and needs at least 2 answers. Search engines and link shorteners are skipped. | "Get featured on domain" | Draft outreach |
| Discoverability | One card per page, grouping the technical checks that page failed in your latest site audit. | "count technical issues on path" | Fix it |
| Agent Readiness | One card per page, for checks on how ready the page is for AI agents: agent versions, answers, evidence and structured data (for example missing FAQ markup on a Q&A page). It also flags a page that AI answers cite but no published agent page covers. | "count agent readiness issues on path" | Fix it |
Discoverability and Agent Readiness need a site audit first. See By Context and By Page.
How opportunities are prioritised
Each card carries an importance badge based on its score:
| Badge | Score |
|---|---|
| High | 70 or more |
| Medium | 40 to 69 |
| Low | Under 40 |
- A page that AI answers already cite ranks higher.
- For Outreach, the score is the site's share of the relevant answers. It is reduced when there are fewer than 10 answers, so a small sample can't top the list.
- Info-level audit findings never become opportunities.

Open Opportunities
Open Optimize in the sidebar. The All tab shows the top cards in each category, each with a count badge.
Drill into a category
Press View all on a category, or open its tab. A category tab lists every card; press Load more to see further cards.
Filter
Use Status (Active, Done or Dismissed; the default is Active) and Context (All contexts or one context). Filters are saved in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered view.
Export (optional)
Press Export to download a PDF of the current view. The button reads "Exporting…" while it works.
Act on an opportunity
Press a card, or its action button (Write it, Improve it, Draft outreach or Fix it).
If your plan includes the AI assistant, a chat opens in a panel on the right. It starts at once with a prefilled task named after the opportunity. The assistant reads the opportunity's evidence and picks the next step, for example:
- writing a new article or rewriting an existing one;
- drafting outreach to a site;
- giving exact steps to fix a page's technical issues;
- generating an agent page, then publishing it after you confirm.
The chat is saved in Recents like any other conversation. See Chat.
If your plan does not include the AI assistant, pressing an action shows a plan card instead of a chat. See Plans and billing.
Opportunity states
| State | How it gets there | What happens on a rebuild |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Opttab found evidence for it. | Stays while the evidence is there. |
| Done | You chose Mark as done in the card menu. | Never changed by a rebuild. |
| Dismissed | You chose Dismiss in the card menu. | Never changed by a rebuild. |
| Resolved | Its evidence went away, for example your page is now cited. | Drops off the list. It reopens if the evidence returns. |
To bring back a done or dismissed item, switch Status to Done or Dismissed, open the card menu and choose Reopen. Read-only members don't see the card menu.
