Workspace and accountProfile and security

Profile and security

Update your profile, change your password, turn on two-factor authentication, manage signed-in devices and delete your account.

Your profile and security settings belong to you, not to a workspace. Find them under User settings in Settings › Profile and Settings › Security.

Edit your profile

Open Profile

Go to Settings › Profile, or press ⌘K then P.

Change your details

Update your Name, Email address, Your photo (PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP, up to 5 MB, cropped to a circle), Role (for example "Head of SEO") and Country.

Save

Click Save changes.

Change your password

  1. Go to Settings › Security › Password Settings.
  2. Enter your current password, then the new password twice.
  3. Click Update password.

Changing your password signs you out on all other devices.

Signed up with Google? You'll see Set a password by email instead. Opttab emails you a link to set one. Forgot your password? Click Forgot password on the sign-in page. The reset link is valid for 1 hour.

Turn on two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app each time you sign in.

Start setup

In Settings › Security › Two Factor Authentication, start setup and confirm your password.

Add Opttab to your app

Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or copy the Manual Key.

Confirm

Enter the 6-digit code from the app.

Save your backup codes

Store the backup codes somewhere safe. They're shown only once, and each code works once.

At sign-in, click Use a backup code instead if you don't have your phone. Later you can Regenerate backup codes, or turn 2FA off (your password is required). Turning it off also clears your trusted devices.

If you sign in only with Google, Google's own 2-step verification protects your account.

Trusted devices

When you tick Remember this device at sign-in, that browser skips the 2FA code. It's forgotten after 7 days without signing in.

To clear every trusted browser, go to Settings › Security › Trusted devices and click Revoke all.

Recent activity

Recent Activity lists the sessions signed in to your login right now. Sign out any session you don't recognize. You can't sign out the session you're using.

Delete your account

Only the account owner can delete the account. If your plan is still active, deleting the account can end your services, including the subscription.

Request deletion

Go to Settings › Profile and click Request Account Deletion. Opttab emails you a confirmation link. Your account stays active until you open it.

Confirm

Open the link. On Delete your account?, click Deactivate my account, or Keep my account to stop.

Confirming signs you out on every device. You can't undo this yourself. Contact support if you change your mind.
