Content StudioEdit and publish

Edit and publish

Review a draft in the Content Studio editor, apply suggested improvements, and publish it to your Shopify store.

Every article opens in the Content Studio editor. Here you check its quality, apply improvements, and publish it to your Shopify store when it's ready.

Content Studio publishes to Shopify only. Owners, Admins and Members with full access can publish. Articles imported from your website have no Publish Now button, because they're already on your site.

How it works

The editor

Open an article from Your Content. The header shows:

  • a status badge: Draft, Approved, Published or Failed;
  • how many changes you've made ("n changes made" or "No Changes Made");
  • Discard, Save Changes and Publish Now.

Switch between Edit and Review to change the text or read it as a reader would. The article shows its reading time and how many sources it uses.

Content Optimization panel

The panel on the right helps you raise the article's quality.

PartWhat it does
Content QualityThe article's score from 0 to 100. It summarises quality; it doesn't predict ranking.
ReviewThe verdict: Ready, Needs edits or Blocked. See Create content.
ImprovementsSuggested rewrites you can apply.
ChecklistEvery review check, with unmet checks first.

Ask for suggestions

Press Suggest improvements. Opttab rewrites the paragraphs behind the unmet checks. You can ask once per version of the article. This uses your content optimizations allowance, which depends on your plan.

Accept or dismiss

For each suggestion, press Accept to apply it or Dismiss to skip it.

Save

Press Save Changes. Opttab re-scores the checks it can measure.

"This content has no quality review" means the article was written outside Content Studio, so it has no score or checklist. You can still edit it.

Publish to Shopify

Before you start, connect your Shopify store. See Integrations.

Open the publish dialog

In the editor, press Publish Now. The Publish to your store dialog opens. If no store is connected, you see "No store connected"; press Connect Shopify.

Choose where it goes

Choose the Store and the Blog to publish to.

Set the address

Enter the Article address, using lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, for example how-to-choose-running-shoes.

Publish

Confirm to publish. Opttab copies the article's images into your store along with the text.

After you publish

  • The status changes to Published, and the header shows "Published date" with View live to open the article on your store.
  • The article appears in Calendar and History. See Content Studio.
  • Publish Now becomes Publish Changes. Press it after editing to update the live article.
