Why do sentiment numbers differ?
Why the Sentiment tab score differs from the Positive Sentiment card on the Summary and Visibility tabs.
The Positive Sentiment card and the Sentiment tab score count at different levels.
| Where | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Positive Sentiment on Summary and Visibility, the Sentiment Trend chart and rail | One sentiment per answer: positive answers ÷ all classified answers |
| Sentiment tab: score ring, Total / Positive / Negative / Neutral Mentions, brand table | Quotes: each sentiment-classified statement inside an answer |
One answer can contain several quotes — for example, praise for your pricing and a complaint about delivery. The answer gets one overall sentiment, but adds two quotes to the Sentiment tab. So the two numbers can disagree, and both are correct.
Use the per-answer card to track your overall trend. Use the Sentiment tab's Themes & Opportunities to see what drives it.
