Opttab is designed to be fully keyboard-driven so you can manage tabs, switch workspaces, and trigger search without ever reaching for the mouse. Every core action has a default shortcut, and all shortcuts are customizable to fit your existing muscle memory or avoid conflicts with other tools you use.Documentation Index

Customizing shortcuts
You can reassign any shortcut to a key combination that works better for you.Open Settings
Click the Opttab icon in your browser toolbar to open the panel, then click the gear icon to open Settings.
Click the Shortcuts tab
Select the Shortcuts tab at the top of the Settings panel to see the full list of actions and their current key bindings.
Click the shortcut you want to change
Click the key binding next to the action you want to reassign. The field becomes editable and shows a “Press new shortcut” prompt.
Press your new key combination
Press the key combination you want to assign. Opttab records it immediately. If the combination conflicts with an existing shortcut, a warning appears inline.
Shortcut conflicts
If the shortcut you assign is already used by your browser or operating system, Opttab shows a conflict warning next to the binding. You have two options:- Reassign the conflicting shortcut — choose a different key combination that doesn’t clash.
- Keep both — Opttab takes priority over the conflicting shortcut when the Opttab panel is open or focused. Outside the panel, the browser or OS shortcut behaves normally.
Some shortcuts may not work on browser-internal pages such as
chrome:// or about: pages. This is a browser security restriction that prevents extensions from intercepting key events on those pages.
